Q For how long may the FastBrightTM colours be left before they cannot be washed off using water? A There is no time limit for washing away colour from your piece or from brushes. A damp sponge and running water is all that is required. Q Can FastBrightTM colours be thinned with water? A No, these colours rely upon the special Fast-Drying medium to dry within a short time. Adding water greatly increases this drying time. Q Is there any surface preparation necessary? A Yes, always clean the ceramic or glass surface with very clean hot water or a small amount of methylated spirits to remove grease and dust. Q Is it possible to apply too much colour? A Yes, more than three heavy coats when brushing (undiluted) will cause cracking during heat treatment. When brushing use two heavy coats only, or, four coats if colour is diluted with medium. Q What surfaces can I decorate? A All glazed ceramic surfaces and glass surfaces may be decorated with FastBrightTM colours. There are different temperatures used for each of these, please refer to the FastBrightTM Easy Guide sheets for details. Q Do I need any special skills for printing FastBrightTM colours? A No, and simple instructions are included to make printing an easy, effective method of decorating. Q If brush-strokes are visible before firing will I see these after the firing? A Yes, whatever texture is visible beforehand will also be there after the firing. To reduce the visibility of brush strokes, thin with a small amount of medium, or, apply two very light coats, always allowing to dry in between. |
